As per the letter from Principal Secretary Higher Education and Languages, Punjab vide Letter No. SPL/collegeeducation/676 dated 20/5/2022, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University has been nominated as Nodal Agency for training higher education institutions for NAAC Accreditation.

Why Assessment and Accreditation?

NAAC accreditation is necessary for UGC grants, RUSA grants and other financial aids. It has been made mandatory by the government of India for all Higher Educational Institutes. The institutes that are accredited with A or A+ or A++ are most sought after HEIs. NAAC accreditation determines the quality of the institute, in terms of education, faculty, research, infrastructure etc. inculcating confidence in students that, the institute they are selecting is providing the best services. It gives instant recognition to an institute as credible thus increasing the chances of student welfare.

  2. To explain the Revised Assessment and Accreditation Framework for Higher Educational Institutions.
  3. To explain seven criteria, key Indicators, distribution of weightage and philosophy involved.
  4. Handling any queries related to Quality Assurance and Accrediation.
  5. Workshops and training sessions to train the target HEI's for the Evaluation and Accrediation process.
  6. Assistance in establishment of Internal Quality Assurance cell (IQAC) for upgradation of institutions of higher education towards quality enhancement and sustenance.
